18A - Create a Customer Avatar

Image
My customer’s name is Tanya. She is a mom of three boys who are always getting scrapes playing around. She is a caring mother who is always working hard to take care of her kids. She’s always taking them to soccer practice and taking them to the park. She doesn’t want them playing video games. She wants them outside having fun. She enjoys gardening and enjoying the sun which is why she lives in a warmer climate of North Florida. She’d much rather read a book outside then watch television. Tanya is a 35-year-old who wants to start her own catering business but is currently working for one to “learn the ropes”. She drives a blue, Chrystler mini-van that she got used after she had her 2 nd child. Unfortunately, it’s starting to breakdown little by little. I recognize that the avatar and I both want to be outside most of the day and care about safety. We both are a little tight on money but also want the best – so will work for it. I definitely can see the similarities o...

17A - Elevator Pitch No. 2

Image
1)  The pitch.  Same as last time, about 90-seconds long. No Web cams. No sitting. Be dynamic! Upload the video to YouTube (as you do with all of your videos) and post the link. 2)  A reflection on the feedback you received from your last pitch.  Describe what stood out to you as important, what feedback surprised you the most, what feedback you think was outright wrong or silly, what feedback you thought was most useful and insightful.  What stood out to me in the feedback is how I need to enunciate more and stand and move my hands. I just need to be a little bit more passionate when I speak about the company. 3)  What did you change, based on the feedback? I changed some of the speech, but I mostly just changed where I filmed and how I held myself during the video.

1)     Describe five ways in which you think you have human capital that is truly unique.  What is it about you, exactly, that makes you different? Write this up in a detailed list.  a.      Problem solving skills – I definitely think that I have stronger problem solving skills than most. It is engrained in me through my engineering degree and also just by how I look at the world b.     Empathy – I try my best to be empathetic towards others. I try to take a step back and understand what others are going through whenever I want to judge them. c.      Honesty – I’m extremely honest to the point of being blunt. This aids in my communication skills because I will never let anything be swept under the rug. I want to know what’s going on and I want to attack it immediately. d.     My range of experiences – I do think between my family experiences, high school, and coll...

1.     Kate, 33, young daughter. She is a working woman with a husband who is very careful with her little girl. She is very mindful of what products she chooses. Kate has a well-paying job, so she doesn’t mind spending a little bit more for her daughter and her family. Quality matters most to Kate. She is the one buying the bandages so she will put whatever is best on her daughter. She prefers children’s bandages because they tend to fit her daughter better but nude toned are good because they work for the entire family. She will buy them at Kroger, her local grocery store, while she is shopping. In the past, she determines if she will re-buy the product by seeing how well it helped her daughter heal and how well it stayed on without being a painful removal. 2.     Regina, 45, has older sons who are often scraping themselves up. She is taking care of a lot of kids, so she tries to budget more. Quality for price is very important to her...
